What do Scouts get up to?

The Scout section is for young people (both girls and boys) aged 10 1/2 to 14 years old.  We run three troops on Tuesday evenings between 7:45 and 9:30 and Wednesday and Thursday evenings between 7:30 and 9:30 during school term time.

Our aim is to provide a wide range of activities and opportunities that inspire each Scout, to develop their skills in leadership, teamwork and communication.  Each night runs the same programme so that no-one misses out. Most activities are run on the section’s night but some are run in addition to these nights at the weekends or school holidays.

Each term, all Scouts have a chance to vote for the
type of activity they would like to do.  This helps us gauge the interests of the Scouts and helps us to tailor our programme to their interests.

Earn badges, achieve awards and enjoy the adventure of a lifetime!

Scouts are encouraged to learn by doing, so our Scout Programme is filled with adventurous activities to develop their confidence, independence and skill set.

With their Scout Leader, Scouts will plan a variety of activities.

You can expect Scouts to get
involved in activities such as:

• Community impact projects
• Creative activities
• Backwoods cooking
• Camping
• Hiking
• Sports
• Water activities.
